hi, i’m Dez
I’m Dez, the designer behind Studio Dorii. Before branding became my thing, I built my career in marketing - hotels, destination campaigns, regional tourism - basically anything that needed a story told well enough that people actually stopped and paid attention. Turns out that’s a pretty great training ground for building brands. I learned what makes a business memorable, what makes people care, and how to turn that into something people remember.
Now I bring that same thinking to Studio Dorii: strategy first, creative second, and always with a bit of heart. Because a brand that just looks good isn’t doing its job - a brand that actually sounds and feels like you, and gets people to pay attention? That’s the whole point.
● My Story
Meet me
I’m Dez, born in Bendigo, raised in Griffith out in the Riverina, and I’ve spent my entire life growing up in regional and rural areas across Australia.
Being part of these communities meant knowing so many small business owners, and seeing the passion and hustle that went into what they do really inspired me. But I also saw what sat behind that passion, the struggles, the long hours, the businesses with such a strong story to tell that just never had the brand to match it. That’s what pushed me to want to work with them and help build the strong brand identity their story deserved.
I’ve worked in marketing including hotels, tourism, and destination campaigns, anything that involved telling a good story and getting people to actually care. And for over five years, I’ve worked in graphic design, which has always been a genuine love of mine. Now all of that comes together in Studio Dorii, helping businesses build brands that finally sound and feel like them.
When I’m not deep in a project, I’m probably out hiking, at the gym, losing a board game to my family, or with Afrobeats on in the background. I’m big on connection to people, to place, and to the businesses I get to work with. If that sounds like your kind of brand partner, let’s chat.
